Palm Springs

Palm Springs

#Palm Springs is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of LA city life. There are a number of #spas, #shops and restaurants to explore. The heat can be a bit daunting in the desert, so I suggest taking the Aerial Tramway for some #relaxation in nature with breathtaking mountain views.

I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what travel experience I want to share with you first, so I decided to start with the quick getaway. Living in Los Angeles has it perks, but city living will definitely wear you down. For me, the ultimate pick me up is to drive two hours South to Palm Springs – the perfect getaway.

“Since the 1920s, Palm Springs has been Hollywood’s desert playground for celebrities to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of showbiz.”

There is something magical about Palm Springs. I find it’s a city that some either love or hate, but I absolutely adore it. The mountains provide me with serenity and peace that completely clears my mind. I could sit out and enjoy the views all day long. It can get really hot, but I love the heat. My last visit to Palm Springs was back in October with two of my dearest friends and we had a blast! We stayed at my go to spot, Worldmark by Wyndham Indio, which is approximately a 25 minute drive into town. This Mediterranean-style resort has a lot of amenities that one could possibly ever want for a weekend of fun and relaxation.

If you need a little action, then the main strip in town is where you want to be! The strip offers a variety of trendy shops showcasing Palm Springs fashion, galleries, antiques, mod furniture and design, as well as great places to eat. One of my favorite stores I frequently visit is Mario’s. Not only does he provide fine customer service, he always has something new and fun to wear in women’s fashion. It’s totally worth the stop!

Feeling hungry? Well be sure to check out TRIO, one of Palm Springs top restaurants. The service is exceptional and you can’t go wrong with the menu which offers an array of scrumptious dishes to choose from.

Another of my favorite places located in a strip mall a few towns over in Indian Wells is Don Diego’s . Great Mexican food with savory giant margarita’s….you can’t go wrong!

It can heat up well into the 100’s in Palm Springs so set time aside to take a break from the heat and head on up to Mt. San Jacinto. By taking a 10-minute ride to the top of the mountain on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, world’s largest rotating tram, you can experience breathtaking views of Chino Canyon.

Mt. San Jacinto State Park offers plenty of hiking trails as well as a cooler climate.

So the next time you’re looking for a little R&R, why not try Palm Springs on for size. But before you go, be sure to check their calendar of events. Always something new going on in Palm Springs which may make it challenging to get a hotel room, and you don’t want anything to get in the way of jeopardizing your much needed “down time.”
