A Pitstop in Flagstaff, Arizona

A Pitstop in Flagstaff, Arizona

Flagstaff, #Arizona was the perfect pitstop on the way to the Grand Canyon. The town boasts western charm and tons of #local establishments like The Flagstaff Brewing Company and The Flagstaff Soap Company. The quaint shops and delicious #foodanddrink available here were all quite delectable!

After some well deserved down-time in Sedona, we moved onto Flagstaff, AZ and settled into our hub hotel for our Grand Canyon adventure. Flagstaff is approximately a 50 minute drive North of Sedona and an hour and 15 minutes South of the Grand Canyon (South Rim).

I was pleasantly surprised by the western charm of this town with its eclectic shops and variety of delectable dining.

We stayed at the Springhill Suites Marriott located just off Interstate 17 and 40 and not far from the town center. Providing spacious rooms at a reasonable price, good location, and free breakfast, the Springhill Suites Marriott was a logical choice.

Unfortunately, we did not have the opportunity to experience the outdoor exploits Flagstaff offers, but we thoroughly enjoyed our escapade about town.

We indulged one evening at the Flagstaff Brewing Company that offered savory bar food and hand-crafted beers.

Having an on-site brewery and the option to sit outdoors makes this venue even more appetizing – a great place to kick back and fill up.

One of the things I loved about Flagstaff was the many locally owned and operated venues. A noteworthy spot was The Flagstaff Soap Company, owned by Alisha and Justin. Selling an assortment of natural products that included soaps, oils, deodorants, and more, this delightful smelling scented shop had a little something for everyone. Good news is you can even order their products online. As a side note, I love their lavender deodorant which I ordered and received a beautifully packaged shipment along with a lovely thank you note. I’m a sucker for details, so nice touch!

I hope to return to Flagstaff for a longer visit next time to see more of its historical sites and attractions. However, in the meantime, if you’re looking for a great place to stay en route to the Grand Canyon, then you want to add Flagstaff as a considerable pitstop.
