The 10 Best all Inclusive Hotels in Costa Rica
Here's my breakdown of your all-inclusive #hotel options in #CostaRica. Whether you're looking for somewhere with a #family atmosphere, a place to escape for #relaxation, unlimited #foodanddrink or a romantic getaway, you will definitely be able to find something here for your tastes and budget.
When it comes to all inclusive resorts, for many people it’s either love or hate. All inclusives are wonderful for those who want to have the ultimate vacation getaway without the hassle or stress of planning every detail of their trip. I know some people who hate them for their commercial nature but hey, it’s nice to be spoiled once in a while!
All inclusive resorts are actually quite sought out in Costa Rica since it is an exotic tropical country, so many people want to have that paradisical fantasy vacation where all they do is sip pina coladas on the beach and lay in an infinity pool overlooking the ocean.

There’s nothing wrong with that in my opinion as everyone is entitled the travel the way they want. So for those of you deciding on which resort is right for you, here is a list of the best all inclusive hotels in Costa Rica.
Best All Inclusive Hotels in Costa Rica
The Westin Golf Resort & Spa, Playa Conchal

The Westin is one of the most popular all inclusive hotels in Costa Rica due to its location at Playa Conchal. As Playa Conchal is one of the most beautiful beaches, visitors love coming to the Westin to take advantage of not only their very convenient location, but their superb amenities and facilities.

Offering a gym, multiple restaurants of different cuisines, buffets, multiple pools including a huge lagoon like one, a child care center, a shopping center, a spa, a golf course, night time entertainment and many lounges, the Westin has literally everything you need to have the ultimate all inclusive experience.
the Westin has literally everything you need
Though it is a top pick for a romantic getaway, their child care facilities and family suites make it a top pick for a family friendly all inclusive. Their healthy food options make it easy for vegans and vegetarians to find something yummy to eat. They also offer tour services so you can venture outside to enjoy the great outdoors of Costa Rica.
Upgrade to the Royal Beach Club for a room in the towers, exclusive access to the royal beach club pool and breakfast hall and get free room service and minibar.
Casa Conde del Mar

This gorgeously landscaped hotel on Playa Panama will surprise you that it’s an all inclusive. It doesn’t have the glitz and glam nor the size like other all inclusive hotels in Costa Rica but don’t underestimate this one. It is located on Playa Panama, a quiet beach in Guanacaste where visitors can indeed watch the beautiful sunset while sipping cocktails.

The pool at Casa Conde del Mar is one of the nicest we’ve been to, with several waterfalls to swim around. The food is delicious, especially their vast breakfast buffet.

The best thing about this hotel is the atmosphere. Despite it being an all inclusive, there is no loud reggaeton music bumping at the pool, there is not even a ton of people. For an intimate all inclusive getaway, this is a top pick.
Rancho Margot
Eco-conscious travelers looking for an all inclusive need to go to Rancho Margot in La Fortuna. This eco-lodge practices conservation and education of the environment through their tours and farm to table dining experiences.

Canyoning in Arenal

Arenal Volcano Tour
Earning a 5 leaf award in the CST (Certification in Sustainable Tourism), Rancho Margot is one of the few hotels in the country with this respected accreditation.
This is an all inclusive opposite of what most people expect: instead of free drinks and pool parties, you’ll be practicing yoga twice a day, hiking the trails and botanical gardens and you even get free daily cow milking!

If you want an all inclusive hotel in Costa Rica that focuses on a healthy lifestyle and a holistic well being, Rancho Margot is the best choice.
Barcelo
There are two Barcelo all inclusive hotels in Costa Rica, one at Playa Langosta and one at Tambor, but Langosta is a much nicer beach and has a better location.

As Playa Langosta is very close to Playa Tamarindo, you can have all the fun and conveniences of Tamarindo but go back to the quieter beach at the end of the day. Enjoy their spa, pool, beautiful natural surroundings, variety of cocktails and live music.
Keep in mind that if you do go to either of the Barcelo’s, the one in Tambor often throws promotions for locals looking to party hard on the weekend.
Riu

The Riu is built on a stunning beach in Guanacaste called Playa Matapalo so it’s the perfect home base if you love water sports. Enjoy scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, snuba and more all from your front door.

The hotel is built almost like a little city, you can walk through the main road to the hotel lobby and there are shops, a casino and other facilities that make you feel like you’re strolling down the strip.
There are technically two separate sections of this all inclusive, the regular hotel Riu and then the Riu Palace (they have different prices and different services).
Like I mentioned, this hotel is huge so you won’t get the feel of an intimate or private all inclusive vacation here unless you opt for the Palace. But if you’re looking to meet and mingle with other travelers, this is a great resort to do so.
Dreams Las Mareas
Located in the very northwestern corner of Costa Rica, Dreams Las Mareas offers visitors a more intimate getaway as it is situated on a lesser known beach, Playa Jobo. As part of the AMResorts collection, they offer only luxury amenities and facilities.

Splurge and book a room with a jacuzzi on the balcony, overlooking the ocean for a romantic stay. Or book a variety of fun land and water activities with Dreams such as ATV, jet skiing and more.
Occidental Grand Papagayo

Now an adult only all inclusive resort, the Occidental Grand Papagayo is the go to for adults. This hotel sits on a small, quiet beach in Guanacaste that isn’t frequented much by outside visitors so this is a great option for an intimate getaway.

Focusing on giving the best services and privacy to adults, this makes it an ideal choice for honeymoons, weddings, anniversaries or a romantic vacation. All rooms have a balcony or terrace and some have Jacuzzis. If it’s a special occasion, book the romance package for special services and gifts!

The property sits in a fairly quiet part of Guanacaste and location makes it easy to enjoy water sports or simply enjoy the sunny tropical weather.
JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort & Spa
This ocean front hacienda (ranch) styled all inclusive resort offers an authentic Costa Rican experience in style. With an 18 hole golf course, an infinity pool, spa, 2 bars and five restaurants, you can have all the amenities and services of a luxury vacation in the middle of the Costa Rican jungle.

All rooms come with a garden, pool or ocean view and come furnished with a marble bathroom and large tub. Families can request adjoining rooms.
Even if you’re not close to any towns or other beaches, there is plenty to do at the JW Marriott from biking, hiking and beach activities. But at the end of the day, their plush beds and fluffy pillows will make you want to snuggle as long as possible.
Doubletree Resort by Hilton Puntarenas

The Doubletree Hilton in Puntarenas is like an upgraded Hilton hotel with buffets, various restaurants, multiple pools, tennis courts, a ballroom, casino and spa. It’s located on the Puntarenas coast so the beach isn’t the prettiest and the water isn’t the nicest to swim in, but there are volleyball nets and lounge chairs strewn throughout.

Despite the not so nice beach, the location is actually ideal for those who want to explore other parts of Costa Rica as it is within reasonable driving distance to Puntarenas the city, San Jose and surrounding attractions.
They have entertainment for both kids and adults so the whole family can have a great time at the Doubletree Hilton. Tell the hotel when you book if you’re coming for your honeymoon, they’ll set up a special gift in the room.
One thing to be aware of is that they sell day passes which are popular with locals who are looking just to party, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for something more intimate and private.
Los Suenos Marriott
This Marriott lies on one of the quieter beaches in the Central Pacific, Playa Herradura. Named as one of the World’s Best Hotel for Families, this is a top choice for those with little ones.

Though the beach isn’t the typical white sand, turquoise water beach, you can still enjoy all the fun of the ocean. The waves at Herradura are fairly calm, perfect for children to play in.
Enjoy garden, rainforest or ocean views because this hotel is surrounded by all three. All rooms have wide windows so you can have amazing views.

The resort is not all inclusive by default, you have to specifically request the all inclusive package.
We hope this list helps you get a better idea of which all inclusive hotels in Costa Rica you want to stay at. Most of them you may have noticed are in Guanacaste, since that is the province with the most beautiful beaches.
Whichever one you choose, I’m sure you will have a great time. Have fun, enjoy, relax and make sure you get out of the hotel to experience “real” Costa Rica once in awhile!
