Japan During Hanami
#Japan turns into a flower paradise as soon as the #Hanami season starts, it’s the time of the year when the cherry tree blooms and the country transforms. We were in #Tokyo for 5 days and were very lucky to see the city bloom in contrast with its constant city lights and fast-paced lifestyle, definitely a unique experience!
Japan in Full Bloom
Visiting Japan at any time is amazing, but during Hanami is when I think it becomes amazing. It’s such a contrast! From the brightly lit lights with hundreds of names written in Kanji to the calm and beautiful serenity of the parks and gardens full of pink, peach & white blossoms, Hanami is a stunning time to consider visiting Japan.
We started in Tokyo and based ourselves for 5 days in Shinjuku, an excellent base for travelling out and around Tokyo due to its extremely well connected rail station. The fastest and best value way to travel in Japan is definitely by rail and by bullet train where possible makes it even quicker!

Shinjuku is home to the Gyoen National Gardens and provides one of the most spectacular ways to wonder and get up close with the beautiful colours. Now I’m not normally a person that’s big on gardens but there is something about the cherry blossoms that are intoxicating, I just couldn’t stop looking at them! What’s not to love when you have beautiful temples with bridges over water that contain fish and turtles with beautiful coloured blossoms falling like snow all around? It’s a complete fairy tale.

I loved being able to walk around different areas of Tokyo in the evenings and sample wonderful sushi, sashimi and teppanyaki restaurants (sometimes having no idea what I was looking at but being completely intrigued), marvel at the colourful bright lights and then step into the serenity of the peaceful temples and gardens.

Japan is an incredible country, the people are so polite and respectful and I would recommend going to absolutely any client because there truly is something for everyone.
