Review; Villa Dubrovnik in Dubrovnik, Croatia
Entering Villa Dubrovnik is reminiscent of a scene from a James Bond movie. The lift sits alone on street level and once you descend down the cliff side you quickly realise this hotel is worthy of its 5 star status and membership in the ‘Leading Hotels of the World.'
Unfortunately our flight was delayed and after a long three hour drive down the A1 from Split we finally arrived at 3am. Thankfully, there was a warm welcome waiting for us at reception and the friendly young guy checked us in with ease and showed us to our room, explaining all the relevant details from breakfast times to air con controls. Unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the view from our room at that time of night, but knew that treat was in store for the morning. And boy was it worth the wait…
The attentive restaurant staff saw to our every need at breakfast, we indulged in fresh fruit and yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice and smoothies, and a delicious plate of Eggs Benedict. All with Dubrovnik Old Town as our back drop, also known as Kings Landing from the TV series, Game of Thrones.
Villa Dubrovnik is all about ultimate relaxation so whether you prefer to catch some rays by the pool, indulge in some spa treatments or make your way down the cliff side to the private seafront area, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to the perfect spot to unwind.

Of course, you can enjoy a cocktail or two delivered directly to your sun lounger, so we couldn’t resist sampling the ‘Millionaire’, an interesting concoction of gin, rum, apricot liqueur and grenadine. We’ve tried mixing Rum & Gin before without much success and although this was a marked improvement on our efforts we doubt it will be making an appearance on the Pirate’s Grog menu anytime soon.
It’s safe to say every moment at Villa Dubrovnik is steeped in luxury from the sumptuous bed linen to the stunning views across the Adriatic. The only down side to our stay was that we had to leave…
