Book a bobsleigh session and you have the opportunity to travel down the track (with the help of an expert of course) at a speed of 130km/hr. Or if you are really daring, you can try your luck at the skeleton, which has you travelling head first down the track at a speed of 100km/hr solo. With very few tracks open to the public in the world, this is truly a once and lifetime opportunity.

Next, you should visit the Olympic Park, which is where roughly 1/3 of all medals were awarded during the 2010 games. Here you can be awed by ski jumpers in training and competition. Or you can enjoy tobogganing and baseboarding on our dedicated hill – an afternoon here is guaranteed to entertain your whole family!

The park also offers roughly 90km of groomed trails that are ideal for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. It is no secret that cross-country skiing is a phenomenal way to stay in shape, so many people purchase season passes so to enjoy the trails all winter long.

The biathlon is all about skiing fast and shooting straight. The skill and athleticism involved in cross-country skiing at racing speeds combined with target shooting a rifle is much more challenging than you can believe. We offer programmes where you can hone in on your speed and marksmanship in this unique sport.

There is something very exhilarating about shooting the biathlon rifle, but don’t take my word for it. You can try it yourself starting with three clips of ammunition (15 shots).

Lastly, we have the Whistler Athletes’ Center, which is a high performance training and accommodation facility. As the headquarters for the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program and the Whistler Campus for the Canadian Sport Institute-Pacific, no other venue provides the level of accessibility and amenities for athletes like the Whistler Athletes’ Centre. If you are an elite athlete, booking a stay here will allow you to train amongst some of the best of the best in winter and summer sports.

Whistler village is the place to be for après ski! There is no shortage of hotels, bars or restaurants right at the base of the mountain to keep you fed, warm and entertained. The nightlife and restaurant scene have developed dramatically over the last 10 years, bringing in some exceptional dinning experiences. I recommend booking a table at Hy’s Steakhouse. It is a bit on the pricey side, but the food is amazing and so is the world-class wine list.

Whistler used to be a seasonal place, with winter really being the selling point. Nowadays, people can enjoy the beautiful mountain terrain all year long with exceptional hiking, cycling, mountain biking activities, just to name a few.
