Personal data collected by Yonderbound

We only collect personal information that you want to provide to us or that is needed to provide (and improve) our service to you. We collect direct personal information such as name, address and email address as well as indirect information such as cookies (in accordance with our Cookies Policy), connection and system information. To the extent available, we would also collect reservation preferences and smoking preference. This information is required to process, book and complete your reservation. We process payments to pass on to providers through our payment gateway on the Website, however we do not store any of your credit card details and payment information is processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.

Yonderbound may also process data about your computing device such as IP address, browser type, and (for users of our service through a mobile or other tablet or user device) Unique Device Identifier, operating system, application version and latitude/longitude. This may be done, for example, to identify your geographical locations for the purposes of detecting information for price conversions and information required for currency conversion on the Website as well. These data are typically non-identifying or anonymised, but may nevertheless be considered personal data either by themselves or when combined. In these cases the data will be processed in accordance with European data protection law.

You may want to give us your email address, name, telephone number etc. so that we can provide you with information on the products/services featured on our Website, enter you into any competitions or surveys, or just keep you updated about exciting Yonderbound developments that you are interested in. Where you register with the Website to become a registered user, you create an account with Yonderbound for the purposes of us providing our online services to you, including allowing you access to the facility to create your own YonderBox and share information with those people you nominate, to allow your participation in the Monetization Service where you choose to do so, as well as to enter in your details for making bookings as a registered user. In this instance, Yonderbound shall store and use your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and our Cookies Policy. When you create a user account then you will be sent an email to the email address you provided at the time of registering, so that you can click on the link provided in that email to authenticate your account.


Yonderbound takes all necessary measures to keep your personal information private and secure. Only authorised Yonderbound staff, Third Party companies (i.e. service providers) staff or our business partners' authorised staff (who have contractually agreed to keep all information secure) have access to your personal information. All Yonderbound staff who have access to your personal information are required to adhere to the Yonderbound Privacy Policy and all authorised Third Parties who have access to your personal information have signed privacy and non-disclosure agreements. In addition, contracts are in place with third-party companies that may have access to your personal information, to make sure this information remains secure. To ensure your personal information is protected, Yonderbound maintains a secure IT environment and has the appropriate technical and organisational measures in place to prevent unauthorised access to your personal data (i.e. hacking).

Fraud Prevention

When you place a booking or reservation on the Website, Yonderbound passes information about you to the "Fraud Expert" solution. Your personal data is processed by Ingenico e-Commerce Solutions SPRL being the controller, for the purpose of preventing and combating fraud (determining risk levels associated with transactions, detecting and managing any resulting alerts, informing merchants to allow them to take decisions, "human" reviews of transactions with a specified level of risk, modelling of the score).

Your personal information is passed to the authorised departments of the Ingenico e-Commerce Solutions entities involved in the processing, and for the merchant, as well as for any third party whose involvement is required to ensure the smooth operation of the payment process and the functioning of the services offered.

In submitting a booking or reservation you acknowledge that a fraud may give rise to the recording of certain personal data relating to you in a dedicated file managed by Ingenico e-Commerce Solutions SPRL. The purpose of such file is to retain a trace of previous frauds, in particular to provide information for criteria used to evaluate transaction risks and the scoring templates used for this purpose. The recording of your data in this file may also lead to you being assigned a higher risk level in the event of any subsequent booking or order placed with a merchant that is active in the same type of industry/sector and that is using the Fraud Expert solution, and consequently could potentially lead to the rejection of your booking or reservation placed through the Website.

According to the provisions on the protection of personal data, you have the right with respect to the Fraud Expert solution to query, access and correct your data, as well as the right to object, for a legitimate reason, to this processing of your data. Why we process your personal data

Yonderbound processes your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy for the following purposes and the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy:

  1. Storing your travel choices in the Yonderbox and making information available relating to your Yonderbox, as chosen by you. For example, if you wish to make your Yonderbox available to the public, or to a chosen group of contacts (eg, through your Facebook profile), then your personal data (including, but not limited to, your profile name, user name and / or photograph) will be made available through the Website for the audience as chosen by you to view the contents of your Yonderbox.
  2. Participating in the Monetization Service, if you choose to do so. For example, emailing you to notify you of any Yondercredits earned as a result of travel booked through content displayed on your Yonderbox, notify you of any cancelled travel that was booked through content displayed on your Yonderbox and processing your personal information for any redemption by you of Yondercredits earned when you choose to redeem your Yondercredits on your bookings.
  3. Participating to the Yonderfund activities, which will be governed by separate terms and conditions. Please be aware that if you participate in Yonderfund activities, that these will mostly be undertaken through Facebook and the rules applicable to the use of your personal data for such use will be subject to the rules of Facebook or any other social media activity where your personal data is collected and used in accordance with their rules.
  4. Making reservations directly with providers via Yonderbound and taking payments from you on behalf of providers.
  5. Evaluating your stay at a location booked through Yonderbound, and placing this evaluation on the Website (where you have provided us with your consent to do so).
  6. Informing you about interesting offers (where you have provided us with your consent to do so).
  7. Your personal data might be used to detect fraud and/or other illegal acts aimed at Yonderbound.
  8. We might ask you for your feedback and your help in improving Yonderbound.
Transfer to third parties

Yonderbound will never share your personal information with any Third Party business organisation that intends to use it for direct marketing purposes unless you have given us specific permission to do this.

The providers you booked with: For the purpose of completing your booking we will disclose your name and contact details, as well as other information supplied by you that is relevant to your booking, to the relevant accommodation with which a booking is made. We will only provide those elements to the provider that are required for it to process your reservation. This applies to any sensitive information that you give to us such as information relating to disabilities, dietary requirements and/or religious beliefs. This may involve the transfer of information outside the European Economic Area ("EEA") and by providing Yonderbound with this information you provide your consent (and the consent of those included in your group) to transfer such information out of the EEA. If you are travelling to the United States, the US Customers and Border Protection will receive this information for the purposes of preventing and combating terrorism and other transnational serious crimes. The information collected may also include, but is not exclusively limited to, details such as your name, your address (in order to send the confirmation invoice and any relevant documentation to you), your email address and telephone number (if Yonderbound needs to contact you about your booking urgently), and the same details of those in your party.

  4. Government bodies and law enforcement agencies if we are required to do so by the requirements of any applicable law; or if in our good faith judgment, such action is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process; to respond to any legal claims or actions; or to protect the rights of the Yonderbound or its customers and the public.

We may, in a few limited circumstances, supply your personal information to potential acquirers of Yonderbound business but provided that (i) we have contractually ensured that this information is kept private and secure; and (ii) that when supplying this personal information, Yonderbound complies with the applicable local laws.

Which countries will your personal information be sent to and why?

Yonderbound is a global company (and its group of companies is also global) and your personal information may be transferred across international borders in order to provide our services to you. Spamming is where unsolicited emails are sent to you containing advertisements or marketing related materials without your consent.

Yonderbound never sends SPAM emails. Yonderbound itself uses an anti-SPAM tool to protect our employees from SPAMMING. Sending emails without consent is illegal in many countries.
