Adventurous, ambitious, unique
Violeta Donawa, MA, is a cultural worker whose approach centers empathy and cultural understanding. As a trained sociologist and international English language instructor, she specializes in working on and with diverse teams of people. Her past research focused on African-descendant groups in Latin America and their migration patterns to the US. After spending years studying Hispanophone communities, her interests broadened to Lusophone Black life. A beautiful spiral of curiosity led her to the Portuguese-speaking country of Angola in southern Africa where she has conducted project evaluation, participated on a program development team, and continues to teach. As of May 2016, she will be CELTA-certified to teach English through a Cambridge program based in Lisbon, Portugal.
