The Stockholm City Museum begins in the sixteenth century and concludes in the present. Our mission is to preserve the city’s cultural heritage, bring it to life and convey it to Stockholm residents, visitors and future generations. Through the exhibitions in the museum, we tell you how Stockholm has grown from being a small trading town to the modern, multicultural capital city we see today.
The history of the city prior to the sixteenth century is on display at our sister museum, the Museum of Medieval Stockholm.
